As most of you probably know, I don't usually like doing much with my weekends (that's what a 3hr commute everyday does to you!), but this weekend is different which makes a great blog for today.
Somehow we managed to sleep in until half eleven this morning - very unlike us, but obviously needed. We've also been going through a "how can we decorate on a budget" phase so we had planned to do a bit of DIY today.
After a builders fry-up breakfast (needed before any DIY can take place) we got stated on the bathroom - which were painting YELLOW! We've done an initial coat and I love it already;
We've also bought a spangly mirror and a floor rack to go around the bottom on the sink to try and tidy up our toiletries.
The secon DIY mission didn't go so well - as both the bedroom and office windows overlook the street, as an alternative to the wooden blinds we want to eventually get and not having horrible net curtains I bought some frosting film - works brilliantly in the bedroom but for some reason we've had a disaster trying to get it onto the office window - meaning now that I've run out of frosting and need to buy some more, v.annoying, but here's how it looks in the bedroom;
Task three was a lovely tree wall sticker that I bought for the bedroom wall, but on trying to apply that it appears to not be very sticky and were going to need to spray glue to get it on. When it is up it should look something like this;
Hopefully by the end of the weekend we'll have a better looking bathroom and a tree in the bedroom - the office will have to wait!
Tonight were heading our to dinner with some good friends in Sidcup to take a nosey at their new flat which will be nice after an only mildly successful day of DIY, maybe we should of stopped at painting!
