Day #28 A Skill Id like To Learn / Day #29 Something I Could Neve Tire Of / Day #30 Three Wonderful Things That Happened This Month

Another 3-in-1 blog post to finish of my 30 Days Hath November blog challnege.

Hope you've all enjoyed reading these and may be inspired to join me next year!

Day #28 A Skill Id like To Learn
This is a bit of a difficult one - what's springing to mind is maybe learning another language or instrument, but I get the feeling I'm thinking that just to sound thoughtful. I'm quite crafty and I like making things, so it'd be great to maybe learn something like how to use a sewing machine, or to think outside the box with cheap ways to decorate the house. I've hinted on getting a craft book from The Makery from Santa this year so watch this space.

Day #29 Something I Could Neve Tire Of
Oooh, another weird one - something j could never tire of - I'm wondering cheese, red wine, chocolate - but maybe that's because of the time of year. I'm also wondering fairy lights? I love fairy lights. Something I could never tire of...coffee. Done.

Day #30 Three Wonderful Things That Happened This Month
Finishing with a humdinger! Three wonderful things that happened this month. I ordered a slow cooker through the generosity of Rupert Murdoch, that was nice - can't wait to start producing some food in that bay boy. I also had a lovely weekend visiting the parents in Oxfordshire this month and seeing some great progress on my Dads previously burnt to a crisp shop. Lastly I have just had a few wonderful days with my old flame, Laura. It'd been 4yrs since I saw her last and it was like nothing had changed.

Thanks again to everyone for following this November blog, hope you've enjoyed it and at times found it amusing!

Have a wonderful Christmas and I'll see you all same time next year.

Day #27 A Silly Self Portrait

Day #27 A Silly Self Portrait

Courtesy of one Megan Martin (age 4) over the weekend when she ran out of face in her book and so we decided that sticking to real people was the only option. I look like a killer from Blacklist.

Day #26 Something I'm Looking Forward To

Day #26 Something I'm Looking Forward To

This one is easy - seeing a best mate after thre years, come on down Laura Holdstock!

It's going to be quite an adventure. Spending a couple of days on the Isle of Wight and then heading back to London Town for a couple of days of festive fun.

Although it's been three years I get the feeling it'll be like no time has passed at all, CAN'T WAIT!!

What are you looking forward to?

Day #23 Eight things you didn't know about me. Day #24 Something that makes me smile. Day #25 The contents of my purse.

Oops, had a lazy weekend which means doing three days in one, you lucky people!

Day #23 Eight things you didn't know about me

1. I'm a bit of a control freak and like order - the hand wash has to be in a certain position on the shelf and you can only cut an onion one way, my way!
2. I don't do anything unless I know i'm going to be good at it (or can give it a bloody good go)
3. I used to do horse riding lessons as a kid and wasn't half bad
4. I don't like marmite, coriander, or fish
5. I know how to knit
6. I snore (even on public transport, shocking)
7. I don't like looking out of windows when it's dark outside, especially after watching The Following.
8. My hair isn't actually the colour you see it to be, I've been going grey since by late teens.

Day #24 Something that makes me smile

Lots of things make me smile - people, occasions, observations.

One person that always makes me smile for the most random of reasons would be my lovely other half. He's actually a little crazy and comes out with the most random comments. You'll quite often be sitting watching something on tele to then find that he's become bored and is then googling something on my phone - you'll then ask him what he's looking up and it'll be something like "famous people who served in the Vietnam war" (it's normally much more interesting than that I'm sure that was one of his searches). He's a complete genius when it comes to history so I can't knock him, very handy in a pub quiz.

He also drives car like an airline pilot which makes me smile :-)

Day #25 The contents of my purse
I think I was confused by this one last year as i think they actually mean handbag, but as the blog generates in America they say purse. Saying that, I already wrote about my 'purse' earlier in the blog challenge - maybe I'll give you an update - it now also contains hand cream, lip balm and porridge oats!

There you go, a good mornings read.

Day #22 What I Love About My Job

Day #22 What I Love About My Job

First of all let me tell you what I do - I'm a Music Licensing Executive at BSkyB - it sounds fancy, executives are supposed I be 50yrs+, but basically it means I licence music for Sky content, my main areas being our channel promos and Sky Sports content. What I can't tell you about Cricket, you probably already know!

So what so I love about my job? Christmas! Were on a site of around 9,000 people in the middle of nowhere and as such, Sky put on a lot of things for staff over Christmas - this year were getting an Ice Rink I believe. We also have our ownChristmas market and they also do a stonking roast dinner in the canteen, as well as carol singing, and the mother of all treats - every staff gets a present from the chief! And they good presents: hampers, wine, days out - this year I've gone for a slow cooker, something I've been threatening to buy since we got the house, and now I have one on the way, eeek!!

What do you love about your job?

Day #20 Something That Means A Lot Tp Me

Day #20 Something That Means A Lot To Me

Wow, it's already the 20th November, that's shocking, still haven bought one Christmas present!

Anyway - something that means a lot to me? I'm going to head down the same route a I did last year - I have a lot of gifts from people who are still around you, but I think it's the little things that remind you of those who live on in your memories that have an extra charm about them, and of course I'm talking about my Nan.

She was a lovely flossy haired nan who loved her family soo much, and always had a little dog by her side (which my parents have now inherited). One of her 'things' was Lilliput Lane - the mini model houses you can buy. She had HUNDREDS of them and I used to find it fascinating to look at them when we wen to visit. When she passed, they were divvied out between the three boys and us grandchildren also took one each.

I had never noticed before but she had a Lilliput Lane model of The Royal Albert Hall - being someone who's always been close to music I took that one. Interestingly though my Dad used to have music lessons in one of the rehearsal rooms at the Albert Hall, maybe that was part of the thinking behind why she originally bought it - who knows.

Anyway, since it came into my possession it's mainly lived its life on a shelf but as I'm sure you'll know if you've ever encountered a Lilliput Lane model, they're very heavy - so I use mine as a door stop! That might sound a little disrespectful but it's a pretty cool door stop and every time I move it I think of my nan and it makes me smile.

What's something that means a lot to you?
